
President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi has urged blood donors of all blood types to sign up for the programe to save lives and advance health equity.
Delivering efficient and timely care to patients in need depends on safe blood donations. By giving blood and sharing their lives in this way, regular individuals can benefit others. As a result, President Dr. Arif Alvi has additionally asked all Pakistani adults who are in good health to donate blood as frequently as they can, calling it a religious duty to save lives through routine, voluntary, unpaid blood donations. In a statement for World Blood Donor Day, which is observed on June 14th, he made the request.
According to the President, regular blood donations from a sufficient number of healthy individuals are necessary to ensure that it is available whenever and wherever it is required.
This year, World Blood Donor Day will be observed under the theme
“Donating blood is an act of solidarity; join the effort and save lives“
as determined by the WHO.
The president stressed that by implementing a system of routine, unpaid blood donations and protecting the transfusion chain, societies can actually guarantee that individuals have timely access to safe, high-quality blood and blood products.
