‘Sea Guardians 2022’ Naval Exercise China Hosts Joint Sino-Pak This Time

According to a statement released on Friday, the Pakistan Navy and the People’s Liberation Army Navy of China participated in a bilateral exercise called “Sea Guardians 2022” in Shanghai.

According to a Pakistan Navy official, the drill included the Chinese Navy’s aircraft, ships, and submarines alongside the Pakistan Navy’s newest addition, the Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) Taimur.

The exercise was held to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing in addressing marine dangers. According to the spokeswoman, the exercise would also help to maintain a secure and stable maritime environment in the area.

Both navies engaged in on-shore tasks such as planning operations and exchanging professional knowledge.

According to reports in Chinese media, the exercise’s second phase included tactical manoeuvres, joint attacks against maritime targets, joint anti-submarine warfare, and cooperative support for damaged warships.

After the first exercise in the northern Arabian Sea off the coast of Karachi in January 2020, this was the second in the “Sea Guardians” series.
